CSI Spec Summary

Quick orientation for a CSI MasterFormat spec section, before you spend an hour reading it.

What it does

You give the AI a CSI section number (e.g., 03 30 00 Cast-in-Place Concrete, 09 91 00 Painting) or a pasted spec block. It returns an 8-section structured summary:

Section title + division
Scope (what's in, what's out)
Part 1 — General highlights (submittals, QA, warranty)

When to use it

A spec section just landed and the PM/foreman wants a fast read before assigning it.
A sub is reviewing a section they don't usually work and wants to know what's atypical.
A submittal coordinator wants a checklist of what must be submitted under this section.

When NOT to use it

For exact temperatures, tolerances, quantities — read the actual section. The AI won't reproduce copyrighted spec text and may not know the latest revision.
For interpretation questions ("does this clause require XYZ?") — RFI to the designer of record. The AI summarizes; it doesn't issue opinions.
